Yesterday was my last day at El Sol Academy and I had the joy to work with Kevin again because I really liked his poems. He was working on a poem about a volcano and exploding body parts. I noticed that he likes getting approval for his work because he at least read the poem to me three times and asked me if I liked it. After I told him that I did, he got up to get the approval from Sue. In the next class I sat down next to a little boy all of sudden he started crumpling up the paper that had everyone’s poems. I asked him what was wrong and he said he was upset because he did not see his poem on the paper. I told him that it was okay and not to be upset. He started ripping up the pages and I had no idea what to do so I asked him to give me back the papers but he would not. The teacher noticed that I was struggling with him and came along to help him calm down, but the teacher then asked me to switch with another volunteer. So I did and started helping the little girls collect their words so they could work on their poems.
